@zappinghero46903 years ago Oh my, I even noticed that the color of all 3 structures (for Uncaged Vol. 8, 9 & 10) on the left side of the island, they're actually my top 3 favorite colors (blue, green & purple), and even by the closer shot (and as much as I love some of the songs here) I even LOVE how the purple & green structure & markings are put next to eachother on that side too as well! :D ... 4

@thesalsaguy43954 years ago In case you were wondering, the voting this year differed in terms of, it was no longer 1 song per artist, hence why artists like Crankdat are on here 3 times, and why Instinct, with the smaller following, is intensely dwarfed compared to Uncaged. Hell, the #1 song on Instinct was Slushii’s RL tune.
Never mind that, though. This year for music was stellar, and don’t forget the monumental event next week: The remix exchange.
Au5, Pegboard Nerds, Darren Styles, Rogue, Stonebank, and Infected Mushroom are coming out with remixes of each other’s songs next week to celebrate the holiday season. (The remixed songs by which artists are unknown, kind of like a gift.)

Even after listening to some of the 2021 released Uncaged songs multiple times in the past (not talking about Bad Computer of 2021 though), going back listening to this Uncaged mix here anytime (at least specifically any hour or any day) later afterwards had gave me a major ton a amazement flowing back inside of me! Especially the lyrics on some of the songs (like Star Glide & Neo Soul). ... 3

@letszer45204 years ago Great mix! Loved all of the Monstercat releases this year (uncaged and instinct :)! Idea for next year: I like seeing a top 40 of all of the songs of the year, compared across genres, but I see two flaws. 1. The original reason to split Monstercat into uncaged and instinct was to make it possible for more types of music to get heard on Monstercat, and to categorize a little better so we didn't have some heavy trap followed by direct on an album. But then the best of 2020 lists are combined and it's slightly confusing, you want to give each side of the spectrum equal releases, but then compare them across genre by popularity. Instinct has way less active subscribers (not total, active) and seems to be at a disadvantage. We all know that there were more than 12 notable songs released on instinct this year and an easy fix would be to do a top 20 of instinct and uncaged separately. The voting could still be combined, but instinct wouldn't be drowned out by uncaged then. 2. There seem to be notable songs missing off of this mix too! We had an awesome newcomer Kage come in who released some bangers that had a lot of people hyped up, and FOOL put in a ton of effort this year and didn't have a single song make the top 28 (40 with instinct). The one song per artist cap is annoying but effective. I think we all know at this point that Bad computer and Au5 are fan favorites whose releases will always make the best of, but it's only fair to give other artists a chance, imagine Kage having a song in the best of, that's a ton of promotion! Obviously, I'm one voice among thousands and millions, but I think some of the community might agree with me on this one. Thanks :) Mcat for life! ... 1
