Who doesn’t like paneer subji? Matar paneer masala is a homely Indian curry main course dish. In the combination of jeera rice and Indian roti, it never fails to tantalize our taste buds. Matar paneer masala curry recipe is a popular and traditional dish of India. This Matar paneer recipe is prepared with fresh paneer, green peas, roasted gram flour and some essential spices. This deliciously rich curry is usually enjoyed in all seasons. Here this recipe video shows how to make tasty and spicy desi dhaba style paneer subji more deliciously. I always cook it in desi style and make it with besan rather give the touch of cashews or muskmelon seeds in my gravy. In many of the hotels or restaurants have seen that they do not use cashews and muskmelon seeds to make subji richer. They usually make paneer subji with roasted gram flour(besan) or maida (all-purpose flour).

Preparation & cooking time – 20 minutes
Ingredients:
For gravy making :
Onions – 2 medium size
Tomatoes chopped – 2 big size
Ginger, garlic paste – 1 tsp. (garlic optional)
Green chilies – 2 to 3 as per your taste
Oil – 2 tbsp.
For curry/subji making :
Paneer – 200 gram
Boiled green peas – 1/2 cup to 1.5 cups
Chickpea flour – 1 tbsp.
Green chili – 1 to 2
Finely chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp.
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.
Red chili powder – 2 tsp.
Cumin coriander powder -1 tsp.
Kitchen king masala (garam masala) – 1 tsp.
Sugar – 1/2 tsp.
Salt to taste
Water – 1/4 cup in gravy + 1/2 cup in sabji
Oil – 2 tbsp.
Ghee – 1 tbsp. in tempering
Vital Tips:
You can take cashews or muskmelon seeds to make gravy instead of roasted besan (chickpea flour).
It can be served as a kid’s lunch box recipe, lunch or as dinner also as it has nutritious value too. Serve it with rice, roti, or curd/buttermilk and papad.
If you are Jain or swami Narayan, you can skip adding onion and garlic.
Use fresh soft paneer for better results.
